It’s been an incredible year.
We’ve worked so hard.
Our students have made so much progress!
But now it’s time to turn them loose into that scary unpredictable space called summer!
Research shows that students who don’t read during the summer months may lose 2-3 months of the progress we’ve worked so hard to help them make. That means in September, some of them will come back to school reading like they were last February or March. Given the combination of a few summers without reading and the gap for at-risk students can grow by an entire year school year or more.
Learn what you can do this year, and every year to come, to fight back against the summer slide, beginning with the first day of school.
